Hi Reader!

Safe + Sound Week is NEXT WEEK! Every August, OSHA shines a spotlight on workplace safety with its nationwide Safe + Sound campaign - a call for organizations across the country to reaffirm their commitment to building strong, proactive safety and health programs. This is more than just a reminder - it’s a celebration of the progress we’ve made in regards to safety and a challenge to keep moving forward.

This year’s campaign focuses on emergency preparedness and response. It’s the perfect opportunity to energize your safety efforts, engage your team, and recognize the achievements you've made in creating a safer work environment. Check out the Emergency Drill Practice Worksheet on conducting drills!

Check out the photo on the left, above... see anything wrong?

If you guessed unprotected charging stations, you guessed correctly! Under the Powered Industrial Trucks (PIT) regulation, 1910.178(g)(2), OSHA says that facilities must be provided for protecting charging apparatus from damage by trucks.

This regulation could be satisfied with a bollard or even some type of railing to prevent the PIT from running into it.

The second photo is an example of a yellow railing that is protecting the charging station!

How do you protect your charging stations?
