Hi Reader,

It's been a busy start to the year. February has flown by, and how is it already almost the end of the 1st quarter? I feel like I haven't even looked at my Q1 goals...I should probably get on that...

Anyway, let’s dive into what’s happening this month at Triangle Safety Consulting LLC, and I hope this newsletter will help you not only improve OSHA Compliance but also help you build a safer workplace.

In Case You Missed It on LinkedIn

This month, I taught an OSHA 10- and 30-Hour General Industry Outreach Training Class in Greenville, SC.

When teaching the class about Hazard Communication (hazardous chemicals), I had to show the class about grounding and bonding with a fun doodle drawing!

🔥Safety Tip: Be sure that if your facility is transferring flammable liquids (even flammable liquid waste), the containers are grounded and bonded to prevent a static spark from occurring, which could create a fire or explosion!

Not bonding and grounding flammable liquids are immense fire hazards that must be taken seriously. Train your employees, and provide the alligator clamps!

Certified Safety Professional Safety Question of the Month

Question:
According to OSHA's Bloodborne Pathogens Standard 1910.1030, the Exposure Control Plan must be reviewed and updated how often?

Take a moment to think through your answer before scrolling.

Machine Guarding Essentials

Every year, machine-related hazards remain one of OSHA’s most frequently cited violations under 29 CFR 1910 Subpart O, particularly 1910.212.

And in most cases, the problem isn’t complicated engineering failures. It’s the basics, including missing fixed guards, bypassed interlocks, or light curtains that don’t work.

In our latest blog, we break down Machine Guarding requirements, including Machine Guarding Design, ideas to guard the Point of Operation, and best practices when it comes to machine guarding.
