GIVEAWAY & November is Slips, Trips, and Falls Prevention Month
Published 5 months ago • 7 min read
Hi Reader :)
At Triangle Safety Consulting LLC, we’re dedicating November to raising awareness about one of the most frequent causes of workplace injuries: slips, trips, and falls.
Across manufacturing facilities, these incidents are a leading cause of lost workdays, workers’ compensation claims, and OSHA recordables. The good news? Most are preventable with proactive safety measures and a strong culture of awareness.
Bring Awareness to Slips, Trips, and Falls Prevention Month with Triangle Safety Consulting LLC
At Triangle Safety Consulting LLC, we help manufacturing facilitiesidentify high-risk areas, strengthen housekeeping practices, and improve OSHA compliance through customized audits, training, and safety program development.
Why It Matters:
Slips, trips, and falls account for roughly 1 in 5 disabling workplace injuries.
Most occur on flat surfaces like floors, walkways, and platforms, areas we use every day.
These incidents can lead to serious injuries and downtime.
Steps to Prevent Slips, Trips, and Falls:
Inspect regularly: Identify hazards like uneven flooring, cords, cluttered aisles, or leaks.
Clean immediately: Address spills, debris, and oil buildup right away.
Encourage awareness: Train employees to recognize and report hazards.
Maintain lighting: Ensure walkways, stairs, and work areas are well-lit.
Wear proper footwear: Non-slip soles can make a big difference.
The UPS Elevation Program, launched in 2023, empowers women-owned small businesses through six core modules covering topics such as Information Security Awareness, E-Commerce Strategies, ESG Business Strategies, and more. The program concluded its third cohort on October 24th with a graduation ceremony and grant presentation at UPS Headquarters.
As one of the ten certified woman-owned small businesses awarded a grant, TSC will use this funding to enhance our cybersecurity systems, helping us further protect client data, improve digital infrastructure, and strengthen our overall business resilience.
We extend our congratulations to the other Certified Women-Owned Small Businesses who completed the program and received grants. We’re proud to be part of this network of entrepreneurs committed to growth, innovation, and excellence.
Just as we help our clients create safer workplaces, we’re also committed to maintaining a secure and trustworthy digital environment. Strengthening our cybersecurity ensures that the data and information entrusted to us are protected. This is another way we live out our mission of safety and compliance!
💡 A Slip, Trip, & Fall Prevention Tip to Boost Employee Engagement
Encourage your team to become “Hazard Spotters.” Each week, have employees identify one potential slip, trip, or fall hazard in their work area. Then recognize those who report issues before they cause injuries.
Small observations lead to big improvements, and recognizing your employees encourages more reporting and boosts morale!
Let’s make November a reminder that safety starts with each step. Literally!

Our VIRTUAL 8-Hour HAZWOPER Refresher class was a success!
TSC hosted a Virtual 8-Hour HAZWOPER Refresher, and it was a huge success!
We kicked off the session with a pre-quiz to test participants’ knowledge, followed by a full day of interactive learning, hands-on activities, and engaging discussions. This wasn’t your typical click-through training. Participants stayed energized and involved from start to finish.
The course helped attendees maintain compliance with OSHA’s Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response Standard (29 CFR 1910.120), ensuring they remain competent in hazard recognition, safe work practices, emergency response, and regulatory requirements when working with hazardous materials.
A big thank-you to everyone who joined us and to our instructors, Philip M. McMakin and Brandy Zadoorian, for leading such a dynamic and engaging session! 💬 We Want Your Input!
What virtual training topics would you like to see next? Your feedback helps us create sessions that deliver real value. Message us at Connect@TriangleSafetyLLC.com with your ideas. We’d love to hear from you!

🧔 BEARDS & POWERED AIR PURIFYING RESPIRATORS (PAPR) - Let’s Talk About It!
While reviewing an operator’s manual for a client (we’re developing respirator training for PAPRs), I came across something important under section “a”:
“Users must be clean-shaven where the respirator’s face seal comes into contact with the face.” (Applies to M-100, M-200, and M-300 series - shown as #1, #2, and #3 in the photo.)
Here’s the thing, PAPRs are often offered as an option for people who don’t want to shave. But these specific PAPR models still require you to be clean-shaven anywhere the face seal touches your skin! 🪒
✅ For those with beards, you’ll need a different style, something like the M-400, which covers the entire head and face (labeled #4).
I just wanted to make sure everyone’s clear on this important distinction!
Did you know this? Do you or your team use PAPRs? 👉 Share this with someone who does!
Update from Brandy: Had to use a fire extinguisher for the first time!
🍗 A fire started in our outdoor propane grill when we were cooking chicken thighs! 🔥 The fire was getting out of hand and wouldn’t go out by blowing it. So my husband told me he needed the fire extinguisher! 🧯 I pulled the pin, aimed at the base of the grill (under the grates), and squeezed (and swept a little bit). 👩🍳We keep our fire extinguisher and fire blanket under our kitchen sink, so it was easily accessible, and I was back outside within a few seconds of my husband saying he needed some assistance. 💲I highly recommend you purchase a fire extinguisher for your home. Ours is small and was about $20. 🫧🧽I also recommend that you clean the grease in your grill regularly. Grease build-up from previous grilling is likely why the fire started and wouldn’t go out. 🏡Have you ever had to use a fire extinguisher at home or at work? Tell me your stories! Any other grill fires?? Reply to this email and let us know!
